Robin Laub, a Life Stylist

Movie Night

The Oscar’s have been awarded, but of course you haven’t seen half of the movies that were nominated. Now’s the perfect time to organize a movie night and get caught up! Either rent, stream, or buy the winners of best picture, best director or best actor and start planning your watch party.

As your event stylist, here’s what I recommend doing:

1) Figure out a theme based on a movie.

If you choose the movie Bohemian Rhapsody, encourage your guests to dress in fashions from the 70’s era or dress as one of the characters in the movie such as, Freddie Mercury, Brian May or Roger Taylor. The Instagram stories will be endless and hilarious! Be sure and tag me so I can see! Ha!

2) Serve snacks and drinks from the era of your chosen movie.

If you pick The Green Book, you could serve spaghetti and meatballs and pizza slices that are folded over and eaten like sandwiches. Don’t forget the napkins! There are so many creative and tasteful ways to make movie night a fun event. Whatever you do, don’t forget the classics like popcorn, Junior Mints and champagne! 3) Create cozy seating arrangements.

Make sure all of your guests have a good view of the TV screen. Scatter bean bag chairs, oversized comfy pillows and even yoga mats for ways to sit back, relax and enjoy the film. Extra pillows and throw blankets are always welcomed.
