Sleep Soundly

Sleep is a major part of a healthy lifestyle. To help you get a good nights rest, I have four tried and true tips to share with you. The biggest thing to remember is that it’s important to create a nighttime routine and stick to it.

Here are four things I do every night at home for a deep sleep:

1) Take an Epsom Salt bath

Buy a huge bag of Epsom Salts (EPSoak is what I use) and pour into a fun and fashionable glass jar with a scoop near your bath tub. Take a warm soak in this natural magnesium sulfate and simply relax. We all need extra magnesium and this mineral is perfect for achy muscles and a God send for a calming sleep. This is way better than Calgon! Ha! Another benefit from taking an Epsom Salt bath is that your skin gets exfoliated and your body gets detoxified by the salt particles, which keeps your skin silky soft. You only need to stay in the tub for 12-15 minutes, so set your alarm, turn on some peaceful tunes on your Sonos and drift away. Sonos and soaking equals the beginning steps of a soothing sleep!

2) Drink a cup of Calm

Okay, this might be a double whammy of magnesium but I’m telling you, this all works together for a comforting sleep. Boil some water or pop a mug of water in the microwave, add a teaspoon of Natural Calm powder and stir. After a stressful day, this is lulling to the soul and you’ll soon be ready for beddy-bye.

3) Use a silk pillow case

The great thing about a silky smooth pillowcase is that it feels luxurious and you don’t get those funny little lines on your face from sleeping in one place for too long. Also, the silk feels cool on your face, especially if you’re experiencing one of those warm nights. :)

I recommend a SLIP pillowcase.

4) Grab a warm blanket

Whether it’s hot outside and you have the A/C cranked or it’s cold outside with very little heat inside, a warm blanket can help you sleep better. From my point of view, it’s important to make your bed your comfort zone. That’s why I purchased a gorgeous baby alpaca throw by Alicia Adams Alpaca. This blanket is incredibly soft and keeps me nice and cozy, which is just how I like to feel while sleeping. Being cold will disturb your sleep, so keep warm and you’ll be snoozing in no time.

Trust me, these tips work and I sleep eight hours nightly! Most nights. ;) If you’d like help styling your bedroom for the perfect night’s sleep—Just Ask me
