Robin Laub, a Life Stylist

Start Spreading the News

New York is backkkkkk! I recently spent a few days in the city that never sleeps and I tried out a few new places to dine at. As your adventure stylist, I just had to share them with you! If you’re planning a NYC trip and need some unique dining recommendations, Just Ask!

Here are my yummy restaurant suggestions:

Cookshop

This cute restaurant is located in the Chelsea neighborhood with outside dining and a great wine list! The food was good, too. Ha! I wasn’t super hungry as I had been eating so much already in Rhode Island, but the starters I tried were amazing. I loved the Shaved Asparagus, which was nice and light alongside the Shrimp Ceviche, which was a perfect complement.

Le Grainne Cafe

A Parisienne-style cafe owned by an Irishman - go figure! Only in New York! The breakfast was superb sitting outside on the sidewalk watching the New Yorkers bustle on by. I usually gravitate toward a Croque Monsieur or a Croque Madame but this time I had Jambon Beurre and instead of beurre I added Dijon. I’m not high maintenance at all! Ha!

Electric Lemon

Coolest place EVA! It’s hard to obtain a reservation so book it now. It’s located in the new Equinox Hotel on the rooftop. The scenery is majestic and the Chicken Liver Mousse with yummy brioche triangles was the perfect accompaniment to my glass of Pol Roger Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill. C’était Magnifique! Oh, and I bumped into my bestie, Helen Hunt!

Sola Pasta Bar

If you love authentic Italian homemade pasta this is the spot! They only serve pasta for the entrées. Nient’altro! And there’s wine of course. All the servers are Italian and the owner is, too! He’s a bit shy though. I’ve never met a shy Italian before until now. Ha!

In my next NYC blog, I’ll suggest a few sights that are a MUST SEE!

Ciao!
