Rhode Island that is!
Growing up in RI was such a joy and visiting Newport never disappoints. There’s a new hotel in town and as your life stylist, I wanted to share it with you.
It’s The Hammetts Hotel on Commercial Wharf nestled right in the touristy part of town where Bowen’s and Bannister’s Wharf are located. Don’t forget to grab a bowl of chowda at The Black Pearl! And oh, don’t forget about late-night dancing at The Landing with a Cape Codder in hand. Ha!
This great spot is within walking distance of Thames Street. If you’re really energetic, walk up to Bellevue Avenue to view the mansions. In addition, take a hike on the Cliff Walk and psych yourself up for a round-trip walk of over nine miles! Wear rugged shoes with a non-slip sole for walking along the wet rocks while gazing up at the enormous mansions. If you need some shoe ideas, Just Ask! The views are absolutely stunning walking along the water while the waves pound against the rocks. It’s a must-do!
The biggest negative to this new hotel is that there isn’t a restaurant or bar. BUT immediately adjacent to the hotel is a restaurant called Giusto, which is amazing! Ambiance, food, service - it’s the tops!
