Wah! Yes, it’s true, my last child has fled the coop! I’ve been thinking about this day all summer long. And now, he’s gone and I’m officially an empty nester. But I'm happy to note that there's a more positive term for "empty nester." It's called, "a free bird." I have plenty to keep me busy, but I’d like to share some of my suggestions to help you cope with an empty nest and more importantly, being a free bird. It’s not that bad. ;)
1. Travel!
I can design day trips, weekend trips and weeklong trips for you. Just Ask! Now is the best time to travel if you have the time. And of course you can also sneak in a trip to where your kids have flown off to. Here are some travel destination suggestions for those who’d like to travel far and wide:
- Mystique in the West Indies.
- Seychelles
- Maldives
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Corsica
- Sicily, Italy
- Turkey
So get off your sofa and get out into the world! There’s a lot to see!
2. Organize Your Photos!
I can help you compile, download, enhance, crop photos and create a fabulous photo book for you! It’s a daunting task to gather all the photos, but what a great project to work on when you have some unlimited time. And think of all the wonderful memories it will bring back! Even if you’re working full-time, use the weekends to make this photo book project become a reality. I’m an expert at photo book creations! Just Ask!
3. Organize Your Closets!
Wardrobe consulting is one of the many superior services I provide. I can help you organize any closet size anywhere in your home. All you need is a bit of time and patience to try on all of your clothes and decide which ones you’d like to donate, alter, keep or store. We can even get a little crazy and color coordinate your sweaters, t-shirts, pants, dresses and more! Empty nesting is a great time to DASK.
4. Go On A Date Night or Friend Night!
Remember when it was just the two of you or just the one of you? Well, now is the perfect time to rekindle that love between you and your mate or refresh your friendship with an old or new friend. I can help you organize fun dates, girlfriend getaways, guys’ gambling trips or whatever you’re interested in. Just Ask!
5. Live In Another Place For A Month! (Or Two!)
I know this seems impossible, especially if you’re a full-time employee, but have you heard of s-a-b-b-a-t-i-c-a-l? Live like a local somewhere. Maybe a villa in the south of France is in order? Maybe an around-the-world cruise is more your style? Whatever it is, take this empty but much needed time and fill it with excitement and adventure. Immerse yourself in new cultures, learn another language, see different places and meet new faces :) I can help create an unforgettable use of your time by facilitating all the arrangements!
Bottom line, when you’re an empty nester, be sure to take some time to do the things that have been pushed aside and take that chance, right now! Feel young again as an empty nester and everything will feel fresh and new again. Plus, you’ll make a whole new batch of memories!
Bye, bye birdie! Hello free Robin!
