Napa Valley has some new fun and fashionable places that I’d like to share with you! Great for the holidays!
Recently while “working” on my golf quest in Napa, I stumbled upon two new hotels, two new golf courses, one new winery, and one new restaurant. These are all new to me and I’d like to tell you about them so you can put them on your list.
I stayed at the R Inn Napa ), which is on the outskirts of the main drag of downtown Napa but easily accessible by walking. It’s a no-frills hotel where there is no front desk, no bar or restaurant but very cute outdoor areas and a fun bocce court. Checking in is simply via a code to your room. If you’d like some beverages or snacks, that’s another code that lets you enter the small kitchen or bigger eating area. Super charming. The beds were comfy. A fridge is upon request and they give you a free bottle of wine. Wow! It appears that the rooms are newly remodeled and it was a perfect place to stay for two nights especially when you’re on the golf course for 4-5 hours.
A cool place to have cocktails is at the Archer Hotel’s Sky & Vine Rooftop Bar. You can sit on stools, drink your Moscow Mule, and gaze out over Napa Valley. The hotel is situated smack in the middle of downtown. A place I’ll surely try next time!
On the Napa waterfront, where there are many new places to wine and dine, The Waterfront Seafood Grill is one you should try. They have lobster rolls (Don’t mistake it for a sushi roll!), crab enchiladas, linguine with clams, and other seafood entrees. Super yum!
If you’d like to go wine tasting and head into undiscovered Napa Valley, enjoy lunch and wines at Chappellet Winery. I sat on picnic tables high on Pritchard Hill overlooking Lake Hennessey. It was a lovely day with gorgeous views. They even have swings for the adults to get “crazy” on! Ha!
The golf courses I played at were Eagle Vines Golf Club and Silverado Resort and Spa. I hear Chardonnay Golf Club is one I should play at as well. Next time!
If you’re looking for another activity besides dining at fabulous restaurants, drinking amazing wines at many of the incredible wineries, or playing golf at the wonderful courses, I highly suggest taking a hands-on cooking class at the CIA (The Culinary Institute of America) at Copia. It’s right next door to Oxbow Public Market. Another great foodie place!
There’s something for everyone when you R Inn Napa!
Cheers!
