Have you ever been in a place where the air seems fresher, the sky is bluer, your skin is tingly, your palate is stimulated and the corners of your mouth are continuously turned up from side to side? Well, if you want a similar titillating experience, I suggest hopping on the next plane to South America; Mendoza, Argentina that is.
The three generations; my mother, my oldest daughter and myself were simply going on a spa getaway but this unforgettable trip was anything but simple! Relais & Châteaux; The Cavas Wine Lodge, the wineries we visited and the hosts were just a few highlights which made this trip worthwhile.
A voilà moment for me was when our itinerary suddenly changed. My mother, at the ripe age of 79, announced that she wanted to go paragliding. To which I replied, "You want to do WHAT?" What was supposed to be a simple hike on Mt. Aconcagua became a high-flying, twirling sensation, joy ride above the Uspallata Pass overlooking Mendoza with the snow-capped Andes in the background. No words can describe the sheer excitement of gliding through the sky. This is a definite must! (unless of course you are afraid of heights!)
I normally say that I don’t travel to the same place twice (okay, Paris is an exception!) but Mendoza is a gem that I will definitely go back to and keep exploring so I can continue enjoying the beauty of this magical place. Let me show you the way! I'd love to help you plan your next adventure.
Waiting for more with abated breath? I'll have a fresh Report for you next week.
P.S. If you're not able to get away I can prepare themed picnics for you to enjoy close to home. This one is Argentine: Icrea (which means creamos momentos)!
