Traditional Thanksgiving Grace

For as long as I’ve been cooking Thanksgiving dinner for my family, we’ve recited a traditional grace before we sit down to eat. One year, I laminated it and made it into a bookmark, which I placed on each of my guests’ place setting.

Our Thanksgiving Grace brings such wonderful memories and it’s a tradition we’ll keep on savoring for years to come. Perhaps this will be your traditional Thanksgiving grace, too?

Giving Thanks

For the hay and the corn

And the wheat that is

Reaped

For the labor well done,

And the barns that are

Heaped,

For the sun and the dew

And the sweet honeycomb,

For the rose and the song,

And the harvest brought home-

Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
