In this week’s Report, I’d like to share a delicious dessert recipe that looks elegant on anyone’s dinner table. All you basically need are fresh pears, honey and chocolate. Oh, and some butter, too. You can’t forget the butter. Ha! Make sure to use the best quality ingredients for this amazingly easy dessert and you’re sure to wow any guest.
Baked Pears
Serves 8
Ingredients:
8 firm, ripe medium pears (I use Bosc pears)
3 tbsp. melted salted butter
2 tbsp honey (Homemade is ideal. Thanks Stef!)
5oz. milk chocolate chips
fresh mint leaves
fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
Heat your oven to 350 degrees.
Slice the pears in half and remove the seeds. If at all possible, keep the stems intact. This dessert looks extra special with the stem.
Place the cut-side up in a baking dish (I use my Creuset, always!), squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the pears and drizzle the melted butter and honey all over them.
Bake for approximately 25 minutes until the pears are a golden brown.
Melt the chocolate chips in either the microwave or in a double-boiler. You can also place a heatproof bowl over a small pan of simmering water and melt the chocolate chips in the bowl. Heat and stir the chocolate until it’s nice and smooth.
Drizzle the chocolate over the pears and place a fresh mint leaf on the side of the pear for a beautiful presentation. Serve immediately!
