Saturday and Sunday mornings are keen for sleeping in late. After a weeklong workweek, or a week of running errands and running the kids around to their gazillion activities, it’s nice to have a day or two to simply rest and relax. And eat brunch! While eating a great brunch I love to look as chic as possible. But how do you do it, you say? It’s simple. Here are my favorite tips for staying weekend chic:
- Want to wear sweats but still want to look chic? Wear a plush coat on top of your sweats!
- No time to doll up your hair? Don a really cool knit cap, a super-trendy turbin or a beret – what d’ya say?
- Tired of wearing heels all week long? Wear some slim shoes (like loafers) in a variety of bright colors. White is chic, too!
- Tired of carrying your messenger bag? Carry a big, structured bag instead.
- Love wearing jeans? Slide on some low-heeled, short booties in a light brown color.
- Your hair's a mess and you don’t like hat head? Wear a stylish headband. Fashionable tip: To keep your headband from sliding off and to keep it secure in place, first put on a thin “stay put” headband by Goody and then put your chic headband on top. Voilå, trés chic!
Simply step it up a bit with your weekend attire and wear a fun and fashionable coat, some amazing boots, a colorful long scarf or even your favorite ballet flats. Need more tips on looking chic any day of the week? Just Ask!
Now, that you’re feeling and looking all chic on a weekend morning, I’d recommend an incredible restaurant in the Dogpatch neighborhood of San Francisco for brunch called, Chocolate Lab. No, it’s not just for chocoholics and not everything is made from chocolate but the brownie IS to die for. Their brunch menu has savory items such as eggs, breakfast risotto, cheese and charcuterie plates, French style open-faced sandwiches and yes, chocolate and sweet desserts. My recommendation is to order the egg, polenta and bacon dish. The roasted vegetables, bacon and organic fried egg on the polenta is probably one of the best egg entrees I’ve had in a long time. The French toast was also super briochey and yummy. The restaurant is small with a few outdoor seating areas. You will not be disappointed! So get ready – everyone is going to stop and stare at how chic you look when you walk through that door. Woot Woo!
Chic is always in. Do it this week-end!
