Stylish in the sun is the theme of my fun ensemble in the photo. In my opinion, you should always look your best while having fun in the sun! Who says you have to wear a boring cover-up to the pool, lake or beach? I think it’s fun to wear something fun and fashionable like this resort wear. Plain ol’ t-shirts and shorts are out! Stylish sundresses and strappy sandals are in! Need a shopping buddy? Just Ask!
In this edition of The Many Sides of Robin, I’m wearing a strapless, flirty, full-pleated, cotton sundress that I bought at Target. Yes, you heard that right – a perfect score at the red and white bulls eye store! I can’t tell you how many times I have found cute summer outfits there. And bathing suits too!
The bright orange and chocolate brown linen matching hat and carryall bag were found at a kiosk at the tiny Bahamas airport. I was lucky enough to snag them at a reasonable price and amazed at this super find as I was heading to my gate. It never hurts to take a peek and look. ;) Remember to always wear a sun hat with a broad, wide rim to shield your “sun screened” skin from the sun, water and wind.
To add a little bit of designer panache, I tossed on my Prada wedges. I like to mix and match a bit of bravado with a bit of bargain! If you need suggestions on which fabulous sunglasses to wear with this outfit, Just Ask! I have a few in mind that are smashing!
To complete this casual yet chic outfit, I threw on another piece of bling; a big gem and beaded cuff bracelet. After I put one of those on, I’m more than ready for any type of summer celebration.
Speaking of summer celebrations, you can’t show up empty handed. Here’s a recipe for my quick and easy Americana red, white and blue cake that screams, GO USA!
Use a 9x13-inch cake pan. Bake a yellow cake from a package mix. After the cake has cooled for about 12-15 minutes, spread an 8 ounce container of frozen whipped topping (which has been thawed) on top. Now, decorate your white whipped topping cake like our beloved American flag with one pint of rinsed and drained fresh blueberries and 2 pints of rinsed and sliced fresh strawberries. Sing God Bless America and dive in!
