If you’re planning on taking a long drive into the wilderness, or going on safari to view the wildlife, it’s important to bring along a game drive bag.
What’s a game drive bag? Well, it’s a small satchel, which should hold the following items for convenience and better viewing:
- Camera with extra batteries, chargers and memory cards
- Binoculars for viewing The Big Five (in Africa, that is)
- Clothing for layering (light jackets and sweatshirts)
- Wide-brimmed hat
- Journal and pen, or a notebook app on your phone or tablet
- Snacks (water and light snacks to last you 3-4 hours)
- Tissue
- Personal items such as Dramamine, headache medicine, medications, etc.
- Fly swatter (to swat away the tsetse flies!)
- Sunglasses (Rayban aviator’s are my stylish recommendation)
Spotlight: Pack your game drive bag each night prior to your drives the next day so you don’t forget anything.
It was fun creating the fashionable, personalized bag in the photo. I couldn’t have produced such a useful bag without the help of Access Uniforms. If you ever need my help to design a t-shirt, baseball cap or even a game drive bag, just ask!
