I’m still on the hunt for the best mascara. Aren’t you? Mascara is an ever-changing product with virtually endless formulas. How’s a lady to choose?
In my Season 3, Robin Laub - Red Carpet Ready Makeup Tips video, I recommended jet black “ they're real! lengthening mascara, beyond mascara” by Benefit. That was a year ago, and at that time it was the best for me. But over time, I noticed that particular mascara was too hard to remove without harsh make-up removers. I liked how full my lashes appeared with the mascara, but then they started to clump together and did not look “real!” Ha!
Several months ago, Bobbi Brown had a great marketing campaign for their new mascara called “Eye Opening Mascara”. It was such an “eye opener”, I bought the mascara and gave it at least a month. The verdict? I don’t care for it! (Sorry Bobbi!) The mascara is clumpy when it comes out of the tube and it goes on clumpy, too. Why would I like mascara like that? No thanks.
I’m currently at a stand still about mascara these days. So…I rarely use it anymore except for when I really need to OPEN MY EYES. I do like (somewhat) Bobbi Brown’s Smokey Eye mascara, but it doesn’t give me a lot of oomph. I need oomph without the clump! Do you get what I’m saying and have the same problem? What are your favorite mascaras? Email me, contact me on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram or comment below!
I’ll still be hunting for the best mascara but it’s not an easy kill. I’m not a quitter though and I want to find the very best mascara to make my eyes shine and look bold. So instead of me not wearing mascara, I highlight my brows. I get them coiffed regularly, use an eyebrow brush and swipe a little bit of brown eye shadow to fill them in. I also use a primer on my eyelids to make my eyes pop and then I use a brow highlighter, called, “Brow Duality” by Anastasia that I place right below my brow for some extra oomph and height. It’s all about style! I may not have the perfect mascara yet, but as soon as I do you’ll be the first to know.
