Reunions are the best type of celebrations for bringing family together. But it takes time and effort to organize a memorable one! If you plan on coordinating a family reunion for the quickly approaching summer 2016, you’ll need to start now and follow these steps:
- Decide if you’d like a hometown, destination or a cruise reunion.
- Reach out to all of your family members and figure out a weekend or week that is suitable for the majority. Do it soon before people make other summer plans! This is also a good time to see who would like to volunteer to help.
- Designate a family member to create a reunion party giveaway for each attendee. This could be a customized tote bag full of fun family reunion essentials like a t-shirt, sunscreen, maps, etc.
- Designate a family member to organize all the meals; breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and beverages at home or at restaurants.
- Designate a family member to coordinate all the transportation to and from the airport, to various activities, etc.
- Designate a family member to decide on all the activities to do during the reunion weekend.
- Hire a photographer to take a family portrait during your reunion. Select a style of clothing and have every member of the family coordinate, including the dogs!
- Book the venue and lodgings if it’s not at someone’s home. Places book up fast so don’t delay!
- Create an itinerary with the day-by-day timeline of what’s going to take place so that everyone is on the same page.
