Relax and De-stress

Okay, so who’s exhausted after all the summer shenanigans? I know I am!

To get ready for a fabulous fall, I recommend taking some time to detox, de-stress, detach, kick back, calm down and take some important “me” time.

Here are my top three ways to relax and de-stress:

1) Get a massage

I recently purchased a package of 10 massages at a local massage studio called Project Zen of Burlingame, California. They do massages of all types such as Swedish, deep tissue and Thai in quiet, warm, low-lit rooms. It’s much more economical to purchase a package and this gives you the incentive to go more frequently. My favorite style of massage is a Swedish one. Ahhhhhh. Stay tuned for a blog about my favorite spas in the San Francisco Bay Area.

2) Purchase an aromatherapy organic essential oil

My favorite essential oil for relaxation is Vitruvi lavender. I simply place a few drops in water on top of a special ceramic candle holder. Then, underneath the small pool of fragrant water I carefully light a votive candle so the beautiful smelling lavender oil can lift up and swirl around the room. It smells divine and your mind will slowly calm down. You can also purchase tabletop essential oil diffusers. If you’d like help finding one, Just Ask!

3) Be more intuitive

Be in the moment. Be still. Remember to listen. Meditate. Practice yoga. Climb a mountain and connect with nature. For me, I love to dance and that’s when I get into my intuitive groove. Find what makes you connect with your mind, body and soul and you’ll notice a change.

Something to think about: I heard this saying from an intelligent young man who was giving his dear grandfather’s eulogy —he advised all of us to laugh, cry and think every day. I was inspired and I try to think of ways to instill laughing, crying and thinking every day. It could be the best way to relax and de-stress! In fact, it could be the best therapy there is! If you’d like suggestions of how to laugh, cry and think everyday, Just Ask

And remember to just breathe.
