In my blog about relaxing and de-stressing, I touched upon how important a massage can be for helping to ease the body. Below, I’ve listed some of my favorite spas and the treatments that have me coming back to de-stress.
Based in the Presidio of San Francisco, this hidden gem is the perfect oasis and wellness center for various treatments. One new treatment I’ve experienced is called the Aromalomi. It’s a Hawaiian based rhythmic massage using the entire arm coupled with aromatherapy. That massage is how to put some wow into your now! I’m feeling relaxed just thinking about it.
This renowned spa on the Monterey Peninsula focuses on incorporating plants and herbs native to the area. I chose to have a facial here, and although I love my esthetician closer to home, I wanted to try it out. It was a beautiful customized facial that focused more on a full cleansing of the skin rather than a peel or other treatment. It was a nice change and complimentary to my daily skin routine. I also tried a new hyaluronic acid hydrating mist that was sprayed immediately on my face after applying a firming peptide cream. I gracefully massaged the products into my skin and my face felt refreshed and light again. This is a must try spa when visiting Carmel or Big Sur.
The Ritz-Carlton Spa at Half Moon Bay
Not only is this beautiful East Coast looking property located on the Pacific Ocean, it has a scintillating spa, too! Everything about this spa says RELAX. From the moment you walk out of the elevator into the sweet fragrance smelling spa and into the women’s lounge, you’re surrounded by peaceful amenities. It’s truly an “Ahhhhh” moment. I get their signature massage, which never disappoints. But what I truly love about this spa is that they treat locals well with a 15% discount on treatments Monday-Thursday. Now, that’s a great incentive!
