Is a trip to The Galapagos Islands on your “wish list?” If so, I have THE luxury cruise company for you! My dear friend located and chose Quasar Expeditions to sail us to most of the amazing Galapagos Islands.
We sailed on “The Evolution” where we had a one-to-one ratio of servers to guests. Anything we wanted was granted with a smile or a joke. The staff was funny, intelligent, and downright kind.
Each morning we were offered freshly squeezed fruit juices, made-to-order omelets, and more. The lead organizer would brief us on the morning activities (which always included a snorkeling excursion!) and then we were off.
The naturalists on board were extremely knowledgeable of all the species of animals on the various islands. If they didn’t know the name of a species, they would jokingly say, “Oh, that’s a Galapagos bird.” All joking aside, these naturalists knew these islands inside and out. They would snorkel with us, look for the sharks, and poke their heads into holes for an octopus. The marine life was unbelievable. I didn’t know that there were so many brightly colored starfish. Huge ones, too! And the turtles in the water were majestic and ginormous in unique colors like blue. The tortoises were little slow pokes on the land but could be 100 years old! FYI, turtles spend more time in the water and tortoises spend most of their time on land. Just in case you were wondering! At age 190, Jonathan the Tortoise is the world’s oldest. Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station to get a glimpse of the Giant Tortoise Breeding and Rearing Program. Mating season was in full force when we visited and boy do those tortoises make loud noises. We saw penguins mating, too. Extraordinary!
Put a cruise around the Galapagos Islands on your bucket list for some exceptional snorkeling, hiking, kayaking, panga riding, blue-footed boobie witnessing and so much more! I also have a great packing list. Just Ask!
Happy cruising!
