It’s fall. That means the weather is cooling down, pumpkin lattés are being consumed by the gallons and pumpkin patches are filled with families looking for that perfect pumpkin. With the start of a new season and all the hoopla, I challenge you to take time for the 3 M’s: Meditation, Mindfulness, and Massage.
Now, before we get going, I’d like to remind you I’m not a doctor. But, if you’d like some more information, Just Ask and I’ll point you in the right direction.
Meditation
Try being present and open to the practice of meditation. Things are only transformed when there’s awareness and you can set the template to see who you are. By becoming more aware and present with meditation, you’ll feel a sense of ease and peace. Meditation is an evolving process of becoming your authentic self. Pause and listen to your breath. Simply writing those few sentences already made me feel relaxed!
Mindfulness
Try to reduce anxiety by practicing mindfulness and accept things the way they are. My mantra is, “It is what it is.” And, if I’m mindful of that phrase, it works. Being present and aware takes practice though. Simply notice what’s going on around you and don’t make it worse by overthinking things. Experience what’s arising as it unfolds without adding to it and don’t create monsters. With stillness, comes clarity. Practice mindfulness today while brushing your teeth and only think about that one activity.
Massage
After all of your mindful breathing and learning to sit and explore uncomfortable experiences, you’ll be ready for a much-needed massage! Finding a good massage therapist takes effort. Here are some tips:
- Ask around for referrals
- Look at the therapist’s education and work experience
- Be picky about what you like and dislike
- Enjoy!
