7 Safari Essentials

Over the next three weeks, the Report will be focused on Safari travel. Why? Because I’ll be on location researching Kenya and blogging about interesting, useful information for traveling in Africa. But first, I have to make sure I’m packed and prepared!

Here’s my list of seven important things to put on your travel checklist before heading out into the bush:

3 standard essentials:

  1. Meet with your primary care provider. Obtain all the necessary vaccinations.
  2. Confirm that your passport is current and not expiring within 6 months of your travel time.
  3. Obtain any necessary Visa’s to enter into the country.

4 stylish essentials for women:

  1. Lash extensions or lash tint for those who always need to wear mascara. There will be no time for make-up on a safari.
  2. Keratin hair straightening treatment. There will be no blow dryers in the tent.
  3. Animal print bandanna to cover your hair and face from the dusty savannah. This can also be used as a napkin.
  4. Tinted moisturizer with sunscreen. It’s the only thing you'll have time to apply before the wee early morning game drives.

No matter where you travel or how long you stay, it's always a good idea to create a travel checklist before you leave. I'd love to help you create one for your next trip - just ask!
