Accessorize A Small Bedroom

Do you have a small guest bedroom and don’t have any idea how to accessorize it? Or, has one of your children gone off to live in a college dorm or apartment and you want to help them make it look dreamy? I have some great suggestions to get any small bedroom looking fun and fashionable.

  • Don’t feel like you have to buy a bed with a big headboard. Simply purchase all different size pillows to throw on top of the bed. Go for different fabrics, colors and textures for several unique looks.
  • If buying a new mattress is out of the budget, buy a comfy mattress topper to place on top of the existing mattress. It’s like a whole new bed!
  • Hang up full-length mirrors on one wall to make the room look larger. And, of course it doubles as a way to check out every day’s fabulous outfits. Ha!
  • If the landlord approves, add cabinets above the bed for storage. You can also raise the bed up with risers and add storage boxes underneath.
  • Purchase silk pillowcases for a special luxe touch. They’re especially fab on hot nights since they stay cool on each side.
  • Delight the senses by placing some nice smelling candles on a window sill or side table.
  • Place a floor lamp in the corner of the room for some great mood lighting. This looks great reflected in the full-length mirrors!
  • Add some cozy throw blankets in bright colors. They’ll give any room instant style.
  • Dress up sparse walls with some framed feel-good photographs and art.
  • Get a cool small rug that has a dash of color from the bedding to tie everything together.
  • For something green, add a small succulent or two. They require little maintenance and bring life to the room.

Those are just some of my fun and fashionable tips for a small bedroom. Should you need additional ideas, Just Ask! I can also help with shopping and styling.
