Blends Have More Fun!

And fun is where Buenos Aires (BsAs) is at! South America, I know, has been a common theme for the Report these last two weeks, but Argentina is such an amazing place, it's worth noting more than once!

There are many sights and landmarks in BsAs, all in different parts of the fabulous city. It's important to know that Buenos Aires is divided into 48 barrios such as Palermo, Recoleta, San Telmo, Belgrano, La Boca and more…I prefer Palermo as it reminds me of Soho New York with all of its' fun and fashionable restaurants, bars and shops. And lucky me, I got to stay at two different boutique hotels in the hip Palermo neighborhood.

The first one, Legado Mitico is on a bustling chic street with cute stores on each side. It was simply copada (which means cool)! The quaint hotel had terrific service and rooms named after famous Argentines. I stayed in the brightly colored Tita Morella room. Fun fact: Tita is now my nickname, but only in Argentina! JaJa!

Side note: I feel like all I did was eat at so many different restaurants with incredible ambiances! I also drank a lot of the traditional mate, which is a sour-like tea and very social drink choice for Argentines (unless you like fernet and coke, another top favorite!). Yum!

The other fabulous Palermo hotel I stayed at was the Francis Ford Coppola boutique hotel called Jardin Escondido. From the quiet street the hotel looks like a normal, reddish building with no real special or reminiscent decor. However, when you step inside, it is a "hidden garden." Its' lush courtyard has hidden spots to sit, relax and kick back a glass of Malbec. The atmosphere was aromatic with fresh herbs abloom on the upper terrace. The service was stellar and magnificently supervised by German Rozo and his staff! And, there is an authentic Argentine charcoal grill called A Parrilla where you can be served the best asado in town. And what's a great cut of steak without a Malbec blend? Coppola has other resorts around the world in Napa Valley, Italy, Belize and in Guatemala -- but the Jardin Escondido has a personal charm like no other with impeccable service, "where everyone knows your name!" Cheers!
