Not in the mood to don your “oh so scary” Halloween costume or go to a haunted house with friends this year? Wouldn’t you rather relax by a fire, sip some champagne and eat candy corns? I know I would. In fact, I think it’s the perfect time for a Halloween getaway to charming Carmel, California.
As your adventure stylist, I recommend not bringing your laptop or any work at all so you can fully savor the sights and happenings. In fact, I’ll help you create your own art and wine walk—one where you can wear your Halloween costume if you dare. Ha!
1st stop: The Wine Bar at Winfield Gallery
Grab a glass of wine at the Wine Bar before walking into Chris Winfield’s stunning art gallery. The gallery has a tasting room in front, so enjoy a flight and then be welcomed by Chris or his associate. They’ll walk around the gallery with you explaining the pieces that bring you joy. And, who knows, you might even walk out with a great piece of abstract art or even a sculpture! Ask Chris to show you some of his works, as well. He’s a brilliant painter!
2nd stop: Hahn Carmel Tasting Room and Apodaca Gallery
The best part of Carmel is that many of the art galleries and wine tasting rooms are within walking distance to one another. So sip some wines at Hahn Tasting Room, maybe grab some lunch at my absolute favorite spot, La Bicyclette and walk over (carefully!) to Johnny Apodaca’s Contemporary art gallery. His work is bright, colorful and full of life just like him!
Now, take a stroll along the beach and admire the beauty that is Carmel By-The-Sea. Who doesn’t like a day of wine tasting, art viewing and beach walking (while in costume ha!) at one of the most prestigious internationally known towns in the world?
If wine and art aren’t your “go-to” activities, I know of some great hikes, restaurants, and shops in Carmel, too. Just Ask!
Have a scary good time!
