The Empire...Strikes Back!

Recently, I was in Boston for part biz, part pleasure and part charity work. As I normally do when I’m away, I like eating at the newest (to me), trendiest, and most fun restaurants. And as the researchaholic that I am, I found a couple of beauties in the South End of Boston that I recommend you try out if you're ever there. First and foremost, if you like oysters, B&G Oysters is the place for you. Granted this was only my second time eating oysters, but after you’ve dollied them up with a squirt of lemon juice and a dip of mignonette sauce, oh boy, that is a big, plump party in your mouth! (FYI: I can help you display a platter of oysters which is both impressive and enticing at your next party.) The restaurant is located in the quaint residential area of the South End with a cute corner grocery store on one side and B&G on the other. A total must for oyster lovers! I’m hooked, needless to say.

I also went to Empire, the new up and coming Asian Fusion restaurant that just opened in July 2012 on the waterfront in the South End. Kind of a sketchy neighborhood, but as you enter the big, black, gold-dotted, rimmed door, it’s an oasis waiting to be had! Cool music sets the vibe in this gargantuan place. (Well, if you’ve seen my size, anything is gargantuan!). We sat down near the sushi kitchen and wow! It was extraordinary. Try the spicy tuna roll (my fav), but if you are allergic to Thai hot red pepper flakes(which I am evidently, after a deluge of coughing!) stay away from the hot and sour soup:)

And that’s your Report for the week!
