A San Francisco Proper Hotel

Need to get away? Come to the Bay! I just stayed at a new hotel called, The Proper Hotel. Here’s my best and worst things about it:

Best

1. Cool Bluetooth speakers in the room. They’re portable like the old boom boxes but these are covered in cool fabric. Great for holding and dancing around the room with. Ha!

2. Corner room suites. They have funky decor, are fairly spacious with a lounging area and table for eating AND reasonably priced for a San Francisco hotel. The wallpaper designs are very artistic and actually work well with all the other loud decor in the room. Great vibes!

3. The food is all homemade. And it’s incredibly tasty. The burger in the Villon restaurant is one of the best in the city. It's almost as good as the one at the bar at Spruce! Try the ricotta pancakes for breakfast, too. They look and taste like doughnuts! My fave!

4. Impeccable service. The hotel vibe is tres chic and modern in the lobby, restaurant and on the rooftop. The staff is amenable to all of your needs wherever you choose to hang out. And, if it’s your birthday, you’re welcomed with a bottle of MacRostie Chardonnay. Not bad at all!

5. Rooftop lounge with views. This is such a great space as there are very few rooftops in San Francisco. As a guest you have a private entrance, which is super cool with fire pits, a view of the city and great service. If you’re not a hotel guest, you may want to skip it. Because who wants to wait in a line that starts forming at 3pm to enjoy a crafted cocktail? Yes, there’s a consistent line every afternoon and night, it’s that coveted of a place!

Worst

1. Location, location, location. It's probably situated on the worst corner of the Tenderloin neighborhood. Hopefully, with Twitter in the neighborhood and this fun hotel, it will clean up the area. I hope so because I would only take Uber to and from the hotel lobby. Eeek!

With only one thing on my worst list, it’s a hotel worth checking out. If you’d like me to organize a great Bay Area getaway or stay at The Proper Hotel, Just Ask!
