Calling all members of Exclusive Resorts! I was lucky enough to nab one of the homes at Carneros Resort and Spa thanks to a very generous friend of mine. It’s the perfect place to host a relaxing, socially-distant get-together. If you’d like help planning a socially-distant adventure, Just Ask!
The Carneros Resort also offers cottages. They’re just as lovely, but the homes are more spacious with a grand outdoor courtyard and a serene upstairs sun deck for cocktails or even coffee. They have a full kitchen with all the necessary amenities for grilling, baking, mixing cocktails, whatever you need.
The lounge chairs at the socially-distant pool at the resort are spread apart and they have Adirondack chairs dispersed all around the tranquil area looking out into the beautiful countryside with all those field mice. Ha!
The peaceful spa at the resort offers outdoor massages, too! I was lucky to walk into an outdoor yoga class and I happened to be the only person, so I scored with a private lesson. If you’re in Napa and would like private yoga instruction, reach out to Carolena Coley. I really needed those stretches!
The location of the resort is ideal as the property is nestled among a bazillion vineyards. The one dear to my heart, and to my palate, is Domaine Carneros. Reservations are essential, so call and ask for Hadley Larson who will take very good care of you. It’s all outdoor seating with a gorgeous backdrop of the vineyards and the servers at the Visitor Center all wear masks. We tasted the premier champagnes (but of course!) and funny enough I left with a case of the Rosé! Surprise, surprise!
While you’re in the area, take a drive into Yountville and eat lunch outdoors at the Restoration Hardware Restaurant. It’s a beautiful dining setting with trees jetting straight up right near your bistro table and you can even go shopping afterward! What I also enjoyed was their outdoor tasting room, which is the building right next door to the restaurant. They offer several different wines in this adorable, RH furnished outdoor seating area.
Then, after all of that food and wine, meander on down Washington Street in Yountville to take a peek in some of the stores and grab a macaron at Bouchon. Bistro Jeanty is also there, which is my all-time favorite restaurant. Next time, I’ll make a reservation!
Wear your mask!
