Pizza for Breakfast?

It’s National Pizza Day on February 9th. Instead of ordering a traditional pizza, I have a recipe that will spice up your morning. It’s a breakfast pizza with eggs! For more fun pizza recipe ideas, Just Ask! 

 

 

Breakfast Pizza

 

Ingredients: 

2 cups cubed sourdough bread pieces 

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella

1/2 cup shredded smoked cheddar

1 cup shredded pepper jack cheese

2 tsp Italian seasoning

6 eggs

1 cup ricotta cheese

2 cups milk

1/3 cup chopped pepperoni and/or sautéed mixture of red peppers, onions and mushrooms

1 tsp garlic salt

Pepper to taste

Pizza sauce

Fresh basil

 

Directions: 

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. 

Combine all the cheeses together (except for the ricotta). 

Place bread cubes in the bottom of greased deep pan. Cover with 1 cup of the cheeses. 

In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, Italian seasoning, ricotta cheese and the remaining cheeses. 

Pour over the bread. 

Top with the pepperoni or the vegetable mixture. 

Bake for 35-45 minutes until set. Garnish with fresh basil.

Serve with warm pizza sauce.
