Yes, another Easter and Passover pandemic. Now, what do we do for an adventure? Because we all need an adventure right now! As your adventure stylist I say, take a day trip to Carmel. Pack your golf clubs and play golf! If golf isn’t your fore-tay, then enjoy a hike in beautiful Big Sur. The fabulous views are worth it!
Whether you’re a brand new golfer or a veteran, there are plenty of public courses that you can enjoy in Carmel.
Plan ahead and make reservations at one of these courses:
Carmel Valley Ranch Golf Course - This is a 20-minute drive from the main hub of Carmel and is a warmer location being somewhat away from the ocean. The restaurant by the pool is a lovely way to finish off a round.
Quail Lodge and Golf Club - This is a beautiful course in Carmel Valley with exquisite views. Go wine tasting after your round or eat at The Cork Screw Cafe. There’s a cute outdoor dining area in their garden and sometimes they have their chef making tacos-to-go in front of the restaurant.
And then, there’s always Pebble Beach Golf Links! It’s a stunning course where even I played as a beginner! Have drinks and apps afterward at The Bench and don’t forget to order the meatball flatbread. Yum!
If hiking is more your style, drive further south to the Big Sur coast. Remember to use your All Trails app. Also, please keep a note of the current landslides, a historic feature on Hwy. 1, when planning your trip. Happy Easter and Happy Pesach!
