Robin Laub, a Life Stylist

Women’s Golf Attire

Your adventure stylist is taking up another adventure: GOLF! In preparation for a fabulous round, I’ve done some meticulous research to find fun and fashionable golf wear that can be sported at any country club or on any golf course.

Just as I delved into researching glacier glasses for my Alaska trip, I did the same work in locating the best golf sunglasses. I found that Tifosi sunnies fit my face the best and were lightweight and adjustable. At first, they took some time getting used to as the lenses adjusted to the light. Mine look good and are very comfortable as they don’t slide down my nose when I swing a club.

My next plan of action was to research for some very cool and comfortable women’s golf shoes. I’m a beginner golfer, but who says you can’t look like a pro? If you look good, you feel good,  then you’ll play good! (I stole that quote from the golf pro. Ha!) In my research, I saw celebrity Jessica Alba sporting these terrifically fashion-forward fuchsia pink and white golf shoes on Instagram. I just had to have them! I found out that the company who created them is called Sandbaggers. Just to make this clear…I’m not a sandbagger on or off the course. :) I just happen to LOVE Sandbagger golf shoes. Ha!

After scoring the perfect sunglasses and shoes, I shopped at a local golf store (The Golf Mart in South San Francisco) and found many clothing items and accessories to complete my look.

Here’s what I found:

Golf glove: if you have petite hands like I do, opt for a junior golf glove for a tighter fit. The Tour X Juniors fit the best and the bonus decoration for me are the Patriots colors! Super win!

Golf pants: Adidas stretch pants in khaki just slip right on and are super comfy. If you’re petite, choose the ankle pant which will be like long pants and appropriate golf wear. These pants move with you when you swing. I was being conservative with the standard khaki color, but I have my eye on the gray fashionable print for my next golf shopping spree.

Golf shorts: I also picked up a pair of Adidas Bermuda shorts for warmer days on the links.

Polo shirts: Adidas Golf has some bright colored polos that are slim fitting with a antimicrobial fabric - not cotton! Of course I bought a fuchsia colored one to match my Sandbaggers.

Belt - Nike has a reversible belt, which looks great with shorts or anything that has loops.

Hat - I’m more of a hat person than a visor person. Luckily Nike has an array of colored hats just for women. Buy a dark color in case your tinted moisturizer or sunscreen on your forehead soils the bill of the cap.

Towel - There are new towels without clips called a Club Glove Caddy Towels, which simply slide over one of your golf clubs. It can even clean your sunglasses!

If you don’t have a local golf store, I highly recommend a great women’s golf attire website called Lizziedriver. I can’t wait to wear some of their patterned skirts on the golf course. And, as always, if you'd like help putting together the perfect golf outfit or adventure, Just Ask!
