Since my mother lives on the opposite side of the country, it’s important for me to send her a wonderful gift for Mother’s Day when I can’t be there. Normally, I send her a gorgeous rhododendron plant for her to plant around the house. Each year, she loves receiving this living plant to remind her that life is about living in the now. With my mom getting older, it’s more evident for me to visit her to keep creating wonderful memories. I love her so much and I want to let her know how special she is to me.
So, if you’re in search of the perfect gift for your mother, grandmother, or someone dear to your heart this Mother’s Day, I have some terrific tips. I’ll give you the skinny on where to shop and suggest some gifts to make or buy for the wonderful person, named MOM who helped enter you into this world. So here we go…
My Top 5 Gifts for Mom:
1. Give or send her a plant for a lasting memory. Remember to keep memories going. Call your mom more than you usually do if she is still with us on this earth. Create memories every day with your Mom. Need a good idea? Just Ask!
2. Jewelry. Check out this great online luxury consignment shop called The Real Real for incredible jewelry pieces to wow your mom with.
3. Take your mom on a shopping spree…you know, just like she always did for you when you were young! Pick out some colorful leather gloves, shop for a big Mommy bag, or choose a gorgeous belt for her most favorite sweater dress.
4. Take a class on how to tie a scarf and teach her. There are four specific ways I like to tie a scarf. Interested in learning? Just Ask!
5. Bring her to the salon for a makeover. If you’d like to snag salon appointments in a city that you’re not familiar with, download STYLESEAT and you will find a stylist ASAP! You can search by city, by country, or by creator. What fun your mom will have!
5. The Dream Candle. This is my new favorite find and it’s amazing! Dream Big! It is a battery-operated candle with a remote control. A dream come true. A remote control wonder. No more blowing out candles to a messy wall spewed with wax (I should know!)!
If your mom is no longer with you, visit her at the mausoleum or cemetery and whisper her a happy Mother’s Day prayer or message. Bring fresh flowers or change the silk flowers to brighten her day.
Happy Mother’s Day, Mom! I love you so much.
