Gifts Fore Dad

Yes, siree, Father’s Day on June 21st is heading this way! Need some great present, party, or dinner ideas? Read on!

Present

For the golfer Dad, check out GFore for some stylin’ digs for the golf course. Not divots, DIGS! Ha! Choose a classy pair of golf pants, some super sweet compression socks, and polo shirts with the infamous skull design. And for the women golfer, throw in the same items for yourself in women’s sizes and styles. Because, why not? Ha!

Party

For the spymaster, buy the board game called Codenames for your favorite papa and give him a game party! Dads love this especially since they’re masterful at spying. Hehe! Enjoy with the entire family and see who’s the most competitive of them all! Need help planning a game night party? Just Ask!

Dinner

For the papa chef, serve up something yummy to beat the heat! Japanese food such as sushi with fresh ginger and wasabi might be spicy hot for your taste buds but actually, these have special properties that speed the body’s cool down process. If you’ve made sushi before, then by all means make it. I prefer ordering take-out from a great Japanese restaurant such as Hotaru in San Mateo for some of the best flavorful sushi cuisine in the California Bay area. However, if you truly would like to cook for the guy who normally does all the grilling, grill for him on his special day. For a quick and easy meal, throw some chicken, shrimp or steak kabob on the grill and do the following:

Make or buy your favorite marinade.

Buy your Poppie’s favorite veggies such as mushrooms, corn on the cob, peppers, zucchini, and onions.

Skewer alternating vegetables and meat or shrimp

Baste with your marinade.

Grill the shrimp for 6-8 minutes, the beef for 8-10 minutes, and the chicken for 12-15 minutes.

Serve with your Dad’s favorite rice!

Easy, peasy. Now, what are you waiting for? Go shopping!

Happy Father’s Day!
