Today is Earth Day and it makes me think about a great gift I received recently. It’s a candle — but not just an ordinary candle.
It’s a candle sourced by sustainable plantations in New Zealand called the Curionoir candle. There are two types; one that’s clay and one that’s handblown glass. Both are filled with a combination of botanical waxes.
The candle that I was gifted is called Dark Bouquet which is an earth and citrus scent. Each scent is evidently inspired by a unique story. The handcrafted glass is in a lime/lemon and olive color. My friend obviously knew that I love a citrus scent and the color is almost a citrine color which I always love. Don’t you love it when a friend just gets you?
Just like no two friends are exactly the same, no two candles are exactly the same either. These candles are truly a piece of art. And boy does art bring me joy! Don’t forget to blow it out because this candle can burn for more than 65 hours. Wow! Need help picking one out for yourself or a friend? Just Ask!
I love this quote by the Curinoir creators:
“SMELL IS THE ONLY SENSE THAT CONNECTS DIRECTLY TO MEMORY. IN THIS WAY, PARFUMS ARE STORIES, BINDING THE PAST TO THE PRESENT, WEAVING WORLDS TOGETHER.”
Simply spectacular!
