As your official life stylist, I’m here to remind you that if you haven’t already, it’s time to start shopping for gifts! With so many unique friends and family to shop for it can seem overwhelming—but don’t worry. I have some tips to help you pick the perfect present.
Do you have an artist or a creative creature in your clan? Then choose a gift from one of your favorite museum stores. In the Bay Area, I recommend perusing online or in-store at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art), The National Museum of Women in the Arts or either of the gift stores of Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco! Shop to support the arts!
All cocktail parties, open houses, holiday parties and birthday parties should be welcomed with a gift in hand to the hosts. My favorite “go to” for hostess gifts is Dean & Deluca where you can purchase food items, candy (Red Swedish Fish!), pantry essentials and more. Gather your goodies together in a cute bag, basket, or box and present it to your hosts at your next gathering. Or even better, have me shop, wrap and decorate it for you! Just Ask!
Not able to go home for the holidays? Send a box of super mini bite-sized cupcakes from Baked by Melissa. These cute minis are incredibly moist and just pop into your mouth. The peanut butter and jelly cupcake reminded me of my mom’s school lunches. Yes, they’re that good. These are great as birthday gifts, as well. Plus, it’s hard to even realize the calorie input as they’re literally the size of a quarter. Who could say no to a teeny weeny cupcake like that? Ha!
For the housewares nut, shop online at Houzz. There are sales going on all the time and you can choose from home décor, kitchen essentials, flatware organizers and much, much more. I recently purchased a great wooden cheeseboard as a gift that I’d really like to keep for myself. If you’d like to learn how to create a creative cheese spread to present a cheeseboard as a gift, Just Ask or watch this video!
Happy gifting!
