A Quick and Easy Hostess Gift

Memorial Day and the Fourth of July are just around the corner, which means lots of celebrations! Let me help you bring the best DIY hostess gift to your next backyard barbecue, clam bake, dinner party or picnic.

All you need is:

A stainless steel colander

Several boxes of dry pasta (penne, spaghetti, capellini)

A bottle of olive oil (Watch my FB Live segment on olive oil)

2 jars of gourmet tomato sauce

A jar of pesto sauce

A chunk of Parmigiano cheese

A small cheese grater

Ribbon

A gift card to a wine or fine foods store

That’s it! Now, let’s start assembling.

First, start with the colander, as it will act as your box or bag. Tie a ribbon on each pasta box, sauce jar and olive oil bottle. Then, add them carefully to the colander. Have one box of pasta and one jar of tomato sauce sticking out off the side. Have fun with squishing it all in! Tie the cheese and the grater together with ribbon and add that to the mix as well. Finally, tie your gift card to one of the colander handles and you’re good to go! Don't forget to sign the card ;)

Your lucky host or hostess will LOVE how much thought you put into creating this fun and fashionable gift. It also works especially well if your recipient is of Italian heritage! And, this fun idea is also a fantastic birthday, new home or new parents gift! If you’d like help putting a unique hostess gift together, Just Ask me!
